domo...domo

Ever since Tim clearly won the Lang family robot sugar cookie bakeoff I've been thinking robots. I decided to work in a medium I'm a little more familiar with, wool felt.

Ooh, I love him! He is splendid and sweet, and that expression, oh that expression!

We really loooove your felt robot. My son is four years old and really into them. Check out his drawings I put into bags and stuffed dolls. We loved the cookies too and enjoy your blog.

I've been thinking about making a robot for my son and now I have the perfect inspiration for it! Love, love, love the snap eyes and the mouth is from another sewing thingy
too isn't it? Too cute!

Oh my gawd! I love him! I love the photo set, too! Could I commission one one of those? Do you ever sell or barter your wee creations?

Posted by: Heidi | Jan 11, 2005 12:12:09 PM

Your robot is fabulous!! I mean really, really incredible. You are so amazingly creative. I'm so impressed I'm practically speechless. I would love one of my own!

*Applause*

And now I have Styx in my head. I guess that's not such a bad thing.

I know I run the risk of sounding like a broken record, but what the heck--YOU ARE A STINKIN' GENIUS.

Posted by: Mariko | Jan 11, 2005 12:44:34 PM

i would like to echo mariko exactly! you're just too much hillary - i love the robot!

Posted by: hannah | Jan 11, 2005 1:16:18 PM

nah, I just know you all so well.. crazy robot fans ;)

I should make some more? Maybe this is how I could jump into selling things. And I'd have Styx running through my head the whole time. Added bonus!

thank you very mucho mr. felt-boto

Fabulous robot! The snap eyes and hook & eye bar mouth are perfect. Your projects just keep getting better and better!

Posted by: Lori | Jan 11, 2005 1:27:27 PM

I agree, it's charming! I like your historic building-fronts behind the robot too.

To mix it up a little while you work on those commissions, you could also listen to ELO's song "Yours Truly, 2095" which is about a man who falls in love with an IBM computer. :)

Posted by: Heidi | Jan 11, 2005 3:39:32 PM

Oh my cow! You are amazing! My two-year-old daughter loves your blog too!

Posted by: kimberly | Jan 11, 2005 3:45:52 PM

I'm not even going to show my boyfriend that robot. He'd probably wet himself.
I love your blog, if I could marry a blog ( or just a felt robot) it would be this one.

Posted by: tania | Jan 11, 2005 5:18:08 PM

I love the robot! It is so adorable and creative :)

Posted by: chasmyn | Jan 11, 2005 5:58:36 PM

Yes, yes, yes, you definitely should be selling these lovelies (though our freaky-little vegan family would have to commission one of a non-wool variety). Beautiful!

So dang cute!

Posted by: Jessica | Jan 11, 2005 7:36:42 PM

Great job, and I second what Lizette said! You are such an inspiration, and just brimming over with talent. My son is 6 and loves robots, and he wants me to make one just like one of his robot drawings, so I'll have to make one now. If he sees the cute robot you made he's going to freak out, it's SO cute! I thought nothing could outdo your husband's robot cookies, but I was wrong :o) Love your blog to bits!
