stay where you are sky

Things have been a little bit up in the air around here lately. I've been trying to make some tough decisions and I think, with the help of Alicia's goldilocks theory, I've finally got things settled in my mind. (speaking of goldilocks - cute!) Trying to decide what's the right size/fit for me right now is super tough. Hopefully the decisions I've made are truly 'right fit' decisions and not 'ruin your life and regret it forever decisions'. I think I'm on the right track though because the immediate result of these tough calls is that I had a free unfettered weekend to work on stuff I've been wanting to work on for quite some time and that just felt wonderful. Tim is, I'm sure, cringing at that unfettered bit because he spent the weekend doing our horrible painful taxes while I just threw out little encouragements from the craft room. ("you'll figure it out honey", "we can always move in with my parents if we had to", "why don't you take a break and go get us coffees")  Hopefully this little gal will cheer him up. He got quite a giggle out of her nekkid-except-for-pointy-hat stage last night.

I was able to dig back into all my inspiration books and revisit things I've been dying to work on for months. This little chicky was inspired by a bit of a japanese childrens book illustration I've had on my boards forever. I also started to make a dent in the work for the first volume of pattern booklets.

Hopefully chicken licken is indeed wrong and the sky isn't actually falling.

Is that a hard hat chicken licken is wearing? I love her lace-up vest, too. Sofites are even cuter when they're wearing clothes!

I can't wait for your pattern booklet! I have been reading and reading and now I'm starting to sew and sew....I need patterns!!!! Bring it on! I just love all your little stuffies. They are all so expressive and so dang cute. I don't know how I have lived this long without sewing stuffed animals! I have knit them before...but this sewing thing is just awesome! Your chick is just so adorable :o)

I am so proud of you. I have been reading your blog for a long time and watching you progress with your ideas and your craft. It is inspiring that you are taking time to feed what is in your brain and making them real. Of course I havent started the journey you are making, but it is definitely making me realize that persistence and dedication can really pay off. I always look forward to your creations and enjoy that things are really coming to work for you.

If your decision means more time spent on chicken licken and his friends, I'm sure it's going to be the right one. Your works are inspiring.

I'm glad you're finding your "just right!" It's exactly the sort of thing I wish for lovely people like you! By the way, maybe a falling sky isn't such a bad thing. Look at how lovely falling stars are!
