Mr. & Mrs. Gnome

Attention holiday crafters! Today there's a new toy pattern in the shop. And before Thanksgiving even. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that was possible. The Mr. and Mrs. Gnome pattern is available as a downloadable PDF pattern (like the make-a-longs). The instant gratification of not dealing with a printer is pretty darn appealing. If I wasn't such a sucker for printed matter we'd definitely be running a paperless office around here.

I owe a huge thanks to all my wonderful pattern testers. They came up with some really great ideas (spray adhesive - brilliant!) and caught all my mistakes, and all at lightning speed. Thanks to them gnome-making should be a really enjoyable experience.

Just make sure you don't make bossy gnomes like ours, which are still running us ragged with yardwork. They've even got the boy raking leaves!

** updated to add: I set up a gnomes flickr group for you super speedy types ;)

Hi,
I just bought the pattern, it looks great! I'll be making these for a twin brother and sister in my family. Can't wait to begin these gnomes!

YAY yay yay for the gnomes!!! I cannot wait to make some, thanks so much for getting the pattern to us!!

yay, thanks Hillary! Just one note, spray adhesive is pretty toxic, so you may want to steer clear of it if these are for kids!

I went nuts, dropped everything I was doing, and started making the gnomes! I posted the WIP on my blog. The pattern is adorable, Hillary. I can't wait to start sewing it together.

Thank you! I can't wait to make some for my mom. I am also sending some to my friend in Germany who insists she doesn't like gnomes..they're everywhere there. She will love these!

The Spray adhesive I use is not toxic:

So darling. May I ask a couple questions - can these be done on a machine? Are they a project for felt only? If so, how much is needed? Thanks!!

Hooray for gnomes! Hooray for YOU! I'm a big fan of paperless. Cheaper. Not to mention greener. No doubt all these gnomes will be pleased as punch to be associated with such an environmentally-friendly venture (in keeping with their whole "garden" theme and all :) Happy sewing everyone.
