new flickr sets

This photo pretty much sums up what's on the agenda for the rest of the weekend. Plan a robot birthday party and get thinking about Christmas. I'm trying not to freak out that all I have accomplished is making a ginormous list and also trying not to think about the 1 gazillion stores I'm going to have to brave to collect everything we'll need. Tim says I keep flip flopping between totally overambitious ideas and completely lame buy-it-in-a-box party solutions. I still haven't figured out how to factor in this mysterious two-kid time suck with all my big crafty plans.

To get in the spirit I made 2 new flickr sets, holiday crafts and christmas.

and yes, I missed yesterday, so no more nablopomo for me!

One step at a time!I always think EASY over-ambitious ideas work best ;-)

I just had my second child and I can totally understand. So much to do but it seems like every step forward you take two steps back.

Whatever you end up doing will be great and the only one that will know what is missing is you. Each year our birthday parties get less elaborate and the kids still love them.

Do you really have your tree up already or is that an old picture?!!!

Hi Hillary - I'm sure you'll do a wonderfully crafty job on the bday! I did a robot-themed party for my son's 2nd bday. His blog has a link to a flickr set if you're looking for some ideas. I cheated and had his party a month early before his baby sister arrived! Have fun!

Oh yes, two kids. They act like a black hole for time. I cant remember what I did before I had kids but I remember having loads of time. And my mother in law wants more! Ain't.going.to.happen!

Hillary: I've got four kids - it's total mayhem and has been for years. My mom told me, when the kids outnumber the parents that happens! If Oscar likes tin robots, here are some sites you have to know about: robotisland.com, ericjoyner.com (for retro tin robot art), and cybertoyz.net.

(Later on, if he likes real robots, the Lego Mindstorms are a lot of fun, although kind of expensive.)

Hi there! Good luck on your preparations, I just did my first birthday party and it was very exciting! I saw this ball link in another blog and thought it might be helpful for your robot theme:

Good luck! I know it'll turn out great!

Deep breath -- birthday in a box with homemade touches can be doable.
