I love Ed Emberley! We have the same book plus the monsters. He makes me believe I can draw.

You got me with this one. I usually lurk...

But I LOVE Ed Emberley. He was my fave growing up. And I can't wait for my kids to be old enough to enjoy his books! I saved them all just for them!

Ok, my house is truck central, so I will be off to Amazon to look for Ed's work...thanks for the tips. 2yr old boys + trucks = a thing of beauty.

I love those books! Wouldn't those drawings make great fabric.

We LOVE Ed. We can't get enough of Ed around here. Anna's suggestion that they would make great fabric is pretty cool - time to break out the fabric crayons!

My kids used to love drawing from his books... I love how "elementary" he makes drawing. Great for little ones to see the shapes in things!

I agree with Anna, that would be fantastic fabric!! Love it!!

Thank you so much for posting about this! I used to draw from his books as a child, but had no idea who the author was! I now plan on buying some of his books :)

We sure enjoy Ed's books here too! A sewing mama friend of mine did a fabric painted T-shirt with one of Ed's characters in each of its stages on the front. It was soo unique and creative......oh heck...here's the linky:

Oh! Ed Emberley! I had to buy a copy of his animal drawing book a couple years back just to remember the copy I loved to death when I was a child. (My original copy was a hardback - the spine got all broken, and covers had to be taped back on - I took that book EVERYWHERE with me). I spent many happy hours drawing little scenes with Emberley-style birds, or squirrels, or horses...

I just have to reiterate, thank you for posting this! I had been wracking my brain for *months* trying to remember the name of this illustrator, I was obsessed with his books when I was little! I can't even sit still I'm so happy!
