I had another one of those pesky birthdays yesterday. The best part of the January birthday is being able to get presents on top of the present orgy that is Christmas. Unfortunately this present buying pressure is a bit too much for some (Tim) so I just let loose on the internet in the name of birthday and bought up a bunch of crafty goodies I've been eyeing all year. I've got packages due any day now from reprodepot, purl soho and gail wilson. Can't wait for a little show and tell!
In the meantime I'm playing with some new Dick Blick supplies... and really wishing we had Windows 95 somewhere so we could make ourselves this!

It must be a Capricorn thing...as a teenager, I made an entire bear family and bear house with furniture and little quilts and clothes...those Gail Wilson kits are super fun. My birthday is the 9th and I snapped up a Tamar Mogendorff birdhouse that no one had the forethought to find or buy for me ;-)

I can think of no happier birthday present than boxes of fabric and craft supplies in the mail.

Happy Birthday! I am another January birthday (I'm turning 30 this year on the 10th) and have a similar fate of often picking out and purchasing my own presents since everyone around me is burnt out on present-buying. It works out for me, though since I always get what I want when I pick it out myself. I do wish sometimes for a big fat surprise though. Such is the January birthday! Another lurker here, brought out by our shared birthday. Go Epiphantic births! My poor husband suffers from present-buying nervousness, too, made especially difficult this year with UPS messing up the delivery of half my gifts... we're still waiting for the package to arrive.
