I love Parent Trap! I could watch that movie ever day. Maureen O'Hara's green dress will pop up in my head for no good reason.

"The nerve of her! Coming here with YOUR face!" The Parent Trap is my favorite movie ever. I still know every line.

Those images bring back such good memories for me, of favourite childhood movies and girl guide camps.

My love for Parent Trap is deep and true. Very early in the VCR days, a neighbor recorded it from the Disney Channel for us, and for a long time it was one of our only movies and crazily beloved.
My daughters' school goes to a little camp for 2 days in May with almost identical cabins. I love it.

If you can find a copy, Just Plain Maggie is a really good book about summer camp. I read my copy to pieces when I was little!

I now have such a hankering to watch the Parent Trap. Alas, I'll have to settle for watching the Brady Bunch camping episode in its stead... It's not summer camp, but it still has that awesome 60's film coloration. : ) Love that saturation!

Love Parent Trap! Love it! Somehow, I'm afraid camp is nothing like that anymore.

I adore(d) the 1961 Parent Trap movie; especially without the editing, much more endearing than the '98 version. I even had a copy of the Scholastic's book. I am so there if Kit, Chloe, and Louise go to camp this year.

i illustrated a book about girls at summer camp a few years ago. it is called Truly Winnie. it was so fun to design up the camp's t-shirt and look up reference for platform tents.

summer camp would be such a great idea for those girls-who doesn't have nostalgia for the camp they went to (or wished they had)?

That's so funny! My kids are in the other room watching The Parent Trap right now. Small world.

Oh man, I love camp so much. I hate to say that the Lindsey Lohan Parent Trap is one of my favorite movies and I've seen it about eleven times. And naturally Meatballs. And Little Darlings. You could name a doll Tatum.

Except for the losing her virginity part, natch. You're probably not going for that.

When I think of summer camp , I think of the movie "it takes two" with Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen. I was obsessed with it when I was in the 4th-5th grade age range. I haven't seen it in ages though!!

Love the sketch, and am looking forward to the two stitchettes I ordered! I have discovered two great things about embroidery, you can sit on your butt, and its portable!

I love your inspiration sources. The old Parent Trap is the best! Your sketch captures the essence of a classic girl's camp mood.

Very good choice for those young ladies...I'm sure you'll outfit them in the perfect way for all that adventuring and mucking about in the woods. Loved Parent Trap - my kids love it too (the original one of course).
